Texas Hold'em and Omaha are the most popular poker games and are played the most in online poker rooms (with texas hold'em as the number 1 game). If you are bored of playing Texas Hold'em you can try one of the other games.

Seven Card Stud

This game you play with a maximum of 8 players at the table. All players receive 7 cards. The first two cards are face down (closed) and one card open followed by three open cards and the last card is closed again. You have to use 5 of these seven cards to make the best combination.

Before the game starts you have to place an ' ante' bet, which is a small bet to start playing. After that everybody receives their cards and the player with the lowest open card has to pay the 'bring in', which is mostly 25% or 30% of the whole bet. This player can also place the full bet directly. If two players have the same lowest open card then we look at the colour: clubs is first, followed by diamonds, hearts and spades. The player on the left side of the bring in has the choice to fold, call the bring-in or to complete the bet - to make it a full bet. If somebody raises after this, a complete bet will be added.

If the betting round has finished the dealer burns a card and the next cards are dealt. The player with the highest combination at the table will play first. He can choose between betting or checking. Normally at ' fourth street' the low limit is still active, with one exception: if somebody has a open pair on the table, every player can place a double bet or make a raise. After the following card, at the ' fifth street' the bets are the double from before and the game continues on the ' sixth street' and on 'the river' the same procedure as the first rounds.

If many players continue in the round and the cards are finished, then the last card will be placed on the table and is an open card which every player can use to improve their hand, but this doesn't happen a lot. The limit game has 5 betting rounds, from the third betting round the bet will be doubled.

Five Card Stud

This game you play with maximum 8 players at the table. Everybody receives 5 cards face down (closed). You start with 1 closed card and 1 open, followed by three more open cards. These 5 cards are your complete poker hand. The limit game has 4 betting rounds, from the third betting round the bet will be doubled. After that the game will continue with the same betting structure as the Seven Card Stud game.

Five Card Draw

This game you play with maximum 7 players at the table. Everybody receives 5 cards face down (closed). One time you are allowed to change 1 to 5 cards, to improve your hand, but is not mandatory. These 5 cards are your complete poker hand. If many people continue in the game and there are no cards left, the changed cards will be shuffled and used to give players new cards. In this way it's possible to receive your own cards back. The limit game has 2 betting rounds, one for and one after the draw. At the second betting round the bet will be doubled. After that the game will continue with the same betting structure as the Texas Hold'em game.
